BRAVE VISIONARIES
The first cleanup activity took place on July 10, 1993 (see Volume 1, no 2 of our newspaper). There was much to be done in the first three years: create the organization, implement a structure, define a mission statement, brainstorm on potential environmental action, mobilize citizens, organize the non-profit association, etc. This is why only a handful of cleanups were done between 1993 and 1995. Hats off to our brave, visionary founders for pushing through the difficulties of creating and maintaining an environmental organization with such strong foundations that it still exists today.
In the following table, you will find some statistics about Action Saint-François’s cleanup activities. You can also contact the organization to find out which cleanups took place near your home or are planned in 2020/in the near future.
Much to our surprise, we still find open rubbish dumps. If you know of one, please let us know.
