1992<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>

After finding countless rubbish dumps along the region\u2019s watercourses, a group of citizens created an organization to protect the St. Francis River. On August 5<\/strong>, Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois officially became a non-profit organization.<\/p>

1993<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>

Began cleanup activities. Started publishing the Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois newspaper.<\/p>

1996<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Obtained charitable organization status. Received a subsidy from Environment Canada to hire a cleanup activities coordinator.<\/p>

1997<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Began conducting watercourse inventories under the Placement Carri\u00e8re \u00c9t\u00e9<\/em> summer job program.<\/p>

1998<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Held kiosks at multiple events, including the Salon de l\u2019am\u00e9nagement paysager <\/em>in Fleurimont.<\/p>

1999 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Attended consultations with the Bureau d\u2019audiences publiques sur l\u2019environnement<\/em> (BAPE) and wrote a brief on the topic of water.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

2000<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Organized a theme rally on water issues at an elementary school and a high school in Sherbrooke.<\/p>

2001<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Inaugurated the travelling art exhibition \u201cD\u00e9chets d\u2019\u0153uvres et des arts durs\u201d (unofficial translation: Trash\u2019terpieces and gARTbage) showcasing photos and objects found along riverbanks.<\/p>

2002<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

In October, Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois received an environmental excellence award in the \u201cEnvironmental group, non-profit organization or<\/strong> institution\u201d category<\/strong> at the ninth edition of the Prix d\u2019excellence en environnement <\/em>awards.<\/p>

De 2003 \u00e0 2005<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Continued cleanup activities, which gained exposure among the public.<\/p>

2006<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Launched a project to revegetate shores. Organized its first fundraising event: a cocktail dinner at Coll\u00e8ge du Mont Notre-Dame.<\/p>

2007<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>

Held a benefit show for its 15th<\/sup> anniversary at the Granada theatre. Created a new website and logo. Organized its first riverbank revegetation activities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  • Hosted its first \u201cRECYCLE TON JARDIN\u201d<\/strong> garden recycling event,<\/li>
  • Became present on Facebook<\/li><\/ul>

    2015<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

    • Continued activities on the field.<\/li>
    • Organized its first SALON DE LA NATURE<\/strong> show: 15\u00a0conferences, 35\u00a0kiosks, 2\u00a0quizzes with awards, and 2\u00a0nature-themed storytelling sessions.<\/li><\/ul>

      2016<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

      • Continued activities on the field.<\/li>
      • Organized the first \u00c0 Prop\u2019EAU<\/strong> water-themed conference series: 7\u00a0talks about water and 2\u00a0outdoor exploration workshops.<\/li><\/ul>

        • Continued activities on the field.<\/li>
        • Celebrated 25th<\/sup> anniversary since Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois was founded. We\u2019re still here!<\/li>
        • Created an online payment page.<\/li><\/ul>
