These values include respect, shared responsibility, mutual aid, solidarity, community openness, democracy, partnership, and commitment to the mission.<\/p><h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>2.\u00a0 MUTUAL MORAL RESPONSABILITIES<\/strong><\/h4><p>The following responsibilities apply to all people working with Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois, namely administrators, employees, members, and volunteers.<\/p><p>ALL PEOPLE who work with Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois agree to:<\/p><p><strong>2.1\u00a0 \u00a0FOSTER RESPECT<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>through relationships based on simplicity and openness, rather than authority and rigidity;<\/li><li>for each person, no matter their age, gender, education, experience, personality, or values;<\/li><li>through working conditions that ensure the organization\u2019s smooth running and enable initiative and autonomy.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>2.2\u00a0 \u00a0 HAVE TRUST<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>in each person\u2019s potential, skills and commitment;<\/li><li>in others\u2019 abilities to find solutions to better organize the work;<\/li><li>in each person\u2019s integrity and honesty.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>2.3\u00a0 \u00a0 ACKNOWLEDGE OTHERS<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>for their personal skills and strengths;<\/li><li>for the importance of their roles and duties;<\/li><li>for their effort and work on a daily basis;<\/li><li>for their professional and personal self-development.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>2.4\u00a0 \u00a0 PROMOTE COMMUNICATION<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>so all people can be informed of the organization\u2019s decisions and procedures to follow;<\/li><li>to encourage creativity, involvement, and motivation;<\/li><li>so all members (<em>and citizens<\/em>) can be informed of the organization\u2019s activities and direction.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>2.5\u00a0 \u00a0 ENCOURAGE MUTUAL SUPPORT<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>even in the most challenging situations;<\/li><li>by implementing structures to properly guide interventions, develop people\u2019s strengths and improve their skills;<\/li><li>in order to create a work environment where each person can find support and encouragement from their coworkers.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-5631654\" data-id=\"5631654\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2ec96fc elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2ec96fc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>2.6\u00a0 \u00a0 BE OPEN<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>to the expression of feelings such as anger, worry, and sadness, while ensuring everyone is respected;<\/li><li>to the use of humour in everyday life;<\/li><li>to new ideas shared to update practices.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>2.7\u00a0 \u00a0 CREATE A CULTURE OF INVOLVEMENT<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>to motivate and mobilize each person to help achieve the organization\u2019s goals;<\/li><li>by consulting with staff about the organization\u2019s operation, the chosen priorities for the year, and the development of services;<\/li><li>to help staff better organize their work.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>3.\u00a0 MORAL RESPONSIBILITIES TOWARDS VOLUNTEERS<\/strong><\/h4><p><em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/em> considers volunteers as key partners and much-needed helpers to achieve its goals. It is therefore important to outline specific moral responsibilities towards them.<\/p><p>This is why ALL PEOPLE who work with <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/em> agree to:<\/p><p><strong>3.1\u00a0 \u00a0 ENSURE VOLUNTEERS ARE RESPECTED<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by taking into consideration their preferences and availability;<\/li><li>by being responsive to their needs, strengths and limitations;<\/li><li>by encouraging them to talk about their feelings and challenges regarding their involvement.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>3.2 RESPECT VOLUNTEERS RIGHT TO BE INFORMED<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by ensuring they have access to all information regarding their role and the organization;<\/li><li>by ensuring they receive ongoing training specific to their tasks;<\/li><li>by informing them of available recourses in the event of an injury.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>3.3\u00a0 \u00a0 PROTECT VOLUNTEERS<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by warning them of possible dangers related to their tasks and teaching them how to prevent injuries;<\/li><li>by providing them with tools and devices required for their safety and make sure they use them.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>3.4\u00a0 \u00a0 SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by ensuring they find satisfaction in their work;<\/li><li>by making them feel they are important for the organization.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>4.\u00a0 MORAL RESPONSABILITIES TOWARDS THE ORGANIZATION<\/strong><\/h4><p><strong>4.1\u00a0 \u00a0 RESPECT THE ORGANIZATION&#8217;S MISSION<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by making sure to promote <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois\u2019s<\/em> values in all their work and keep the organization\u2019s philosophy at heart;<\/li><li>by helping the organization achieve its goals to the best of their abilities.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>4.2 CONTRIBUTE TO THE ORGANIZATION&#8217;S SMOOTH RUNNING AND DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by respecting its rules to the best of their knowledge;<\/li><li>by refraining from behaviours and\/or attitudes that may be detrimental to the organization\u2019s credibility, its independence, or even its very existence;<\/li><li>by strictly adhering to the organization\u2019s funding policy;<\/li><li>by fostering a spirit of collaboration with others;<\/li><li>by showing resourcefulness and creativity to help the organization accomplish its projects;<\/li><li>by putting their skills and experiences to the benefit of the organization.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>4.3\u00a0 \u00a0 PROMOTE THE ORGANIZATION<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by projecting a positive image of Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois at all times;<\/li><li>by representing the organization properly in the performance of their assigned duties;<\/li><li>by raising awareness about the organization\u2019s goals and needs within the community.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>4.4 PROTECT THE ORGANIZATION&#8217;S CREDIBILITY<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by providing quality services;<\/li><li>by ensuring sound management of the organization;<\/li><li>by sharing relevant information about the organization\u2019s services, direction, and stance.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-1731518\" data-id=\"1731518\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2f5c020 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2f5c020\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>5.\u00a0 MORAL RESPONSABILITIES TOWARDS THE COMMUNITY<\/strong><\/p><p>Any community organization\u2019s existence is justified by the needs of the local population. This reality prompted <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/em> to define its moral responsibilities towards its community.<\/p><p>This is why ALL PEOPLE who work with <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/em> agree to:<\/p><p><strong>5.1\u00a0 \u00a0 SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION INTEGRETION IN ITS COMMUNITY<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by playing a key role in raising awareness about environmental issues, especially those related to <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois\u2019s<\/em><\/li><li>by ensuring the organization\u2019s initiatives are meaningful and efficient.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>5.2\u00a0 \u00a0 ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY TO HELP THE ORGANIZATION GROW<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>by sharing information about the organization\u2019s needs it can help fulfill;<\/li><li>by making sure the organization\u2019s structures allow its members to guide its direction.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>6.\u00a0 MORAL RESPONSABILITIES REGARDING CONFLICTS OF INTREST<\/strong><\/h4><p>Citizens have the choice to become members or volunteers with <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/em>, and their involvement should not enable them to benefit from services or perks other than those set out, eligible, and authorized as part of the organization\u2019s operations.<\/p><p>This is why ALL PEOPLE who work with <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/em> agree to:<\/p><p><strong>6.1\u00a0 \u00a0 AVOID ANY CONFLICT OF INTERST<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>related to the use of <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois\u2019s<\/em> property and equipment for personal use or purposes other than the organization\u2019s activities;<\/li><li>related to the use of <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois\u2019s<\/em> name and logo for personal use or purposes other than the organization\u2019s activities;<\/li><li>related to the use of member and volunteer lists for personal use or purposes other than the organization\u2019s activities;<\/li><li>by making hiring decisions regardless of intimate or family relationships.<\/li><\/ul><p>The members of the board of directors are elected at the general assembly in order to run the organization and ensure the completion of its activities in accordance with its mission, general rules, and Code of Ethics.<\/p><p>Hence, EVERY MEMBER of the board of directors agrees to:<\/p><p>Inform the other board members of all potential or existing conflict of interest.<\/p><h4><strong>7.\u00a0 FINAL PROVISIONS OF THE CODE OF ETHICS<\/strong><\/h4><p>This section aims to inform the reader about the administrative management of this Code of Ethics.<\/p><p><strong>7.1\u00a0 \u00a0 APPLICATION OF THE CODE OF ETHICS<\/strong><\/p><p>Failure to comply with this Code of Ethics can result in a complaint.<\/p><p><strong>7.2\u00a0 \u00a0 DISSATISFACTION AND COMPLAINT MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/p><p><em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/em> established a procedure to deal with dissatisfaction and complaints, which is appended to this Code of Ethics. A copy of this procedure must be handed out upon request.<\/p><p><strong>7.3\u00a0 \u00a0 ETHICS COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/p><p>The ethics committee is established by the board of directors and is responsible for promoting, interpreting, and updating the Code of Ethics, as well as dealing with complaints, among other duties.<\/p><p><strong>7.4\u00a0 \u00a0 REVIEW OF THE ETHICS<\/strong><\/p><p>The Code of Ethics must be revised within the three years following its adoption.<\/p><p><strong>7.5\u00a0 \u00a0 EFFECTIVE DATE<\/strong><\/p><p>The Code of Ethics takes effect on the day it is adopted by <em>Action Saint-Fran\u00e7ois\u2019s<\/em> general assembly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CODE OF ETHICS 1.1.&nbsp;
